Pregnancy & Postnatal Pilates in Cork

Our pre and postnatal Pilates classes are designed to support you through pregnancy and recovery after birth with safe, structured exercise.
All classes are delivered by Krissy from Bumps & Babes, our founder and in-house pre and postnatal corrective exercise specialist, with many years of experience helping women stay active during pregnancy and return to training safely after birth.
Pregnancy Reformer Pilates
Our prenatal Pilates classes are designed to help you stay strong, mobile, and comfortable throughout pregnancy.
Sessions focus on gentle strengthening, mobility, and breathing exercises to support the body as it changes. We work on the key muscle groups that help support posture, the spine, and the pelvis during pregnancy, while also helping to reduce common aches and tension through controlled movement and meditation
Classes are calm, supportive, and suitable for all levels, whether you are new to Pilates or already exercising regularly.
You must be at least 12 weeks pregnant to attend and should have approval from your GP or healthcare provider before you start your classes.
Mum & Baby (Postnatal) Classes
Our Mum & Baby classes are designed to help you rebuild strength safely after pregnancy and birth while training in a supportive, relaxed environment where your baby is welcome.
These sessions focus on restoring core and pelvic floor function, improving strength and posture, and helping you feel confident in your body again. Classes are kept small, so you receive individual guidance, and the atmosphere is friendly, understanding, and designed for real life with a baby.
We offer a range of Mum & Baby postnatal classes, and you can choose between them each week using the same class pass, depending on how you feel and what kind of session you need. Classes run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and our flexible class pass makes it easy to attend when it suits your schedule.
All classes last 45 minutes. After class, refreshments are provided and you are welcome to stay, either in the studio or in the garden, to chat and enjoy some adult conversation. Many mums value this time to connect with others as much as the class itself!
Mum & Baby Pilates (Reformer & Mat)
These gentle but effective Pilates classes are designed to support recovery after pregnancy and birth.
Sessions focus on rebuilding strength, restoring core and pelvic floor function, and improving balance and stability. Exercises are low impact but still challenging, allowing you to progress safely as your body recovers.
Classes may use the reformer or mat with small equipment, depending on which you choose, but the focus remains the same — safe, structured movement to help you feel stronger and more confident.
Suitable for beginners and for women recovering from:
- C-section birth
- Diastasis recti
- Pelvic floor dysfunction or prolapse
- Back, hip, or pelvic pain
With only 6-8 participants in class, you will receive individual guidance and close attention throughout the class.
Suitable ages for baby:
- Reformer Pilates: Babies are welcome in class until they’re able to do a lot of rolling/moving around and grabbing, usually sometime between 7-9 months
- Mat Pilates: Babies are welcome in class up until they start crawling.
Mum & Baby Small Group Training
A professionally coached small-group training session designed for postnatal mums who feel ready for a more strength-focused workout.
These classes combine Pilates-based exercises with strength and conditioning using bodyweight, resistance bands, weights and kettlebells. Sessions follow a progressive programme to help you rebuild strength safely while improving fitness, posture, and overall confidence. Exercises are adapted to the individual, so the intensity can increase as your strength and confidence return.
With only 6 participants, you will receive close supervision from a qualified postnatal coach throughout the session.
This class is suitable for mums who:
- Want to rebuild strength and fitness after pregnancy
- Would like a more structured, coached training session
- Enjoy strength-based exercise alongside Pilates
- Want to progress safely as their recovery allows
